Our Ethos

Our methods, teaching principles, and beliefs center on children’s needs.

We always have each child’s needs at the center of what we do, alongside this we use a range of teaching and care methods.

Our teachers’ & atelierista's ultimate roles are to intentionally engage children in meaningful work and to discover their abilities, interests, needs, and skills and bring them into the learning experience.

Social-Emotional

Children’s emotions are allowed to be experienced and expressed in words or art, growing resilience, and helping manage behavior.

Creating Community

Process-oriented group projects and events, such as a celebration with handmade decorations and songs, teach the children to work together as a team.

Literacy

Our cozy book corner provides a quiet space for reading and one-on-one time with a teacher.

Building

We have a variety of manipulates that help develop motor and cognitive skills. A block area encourages constructive play, as well as math and scientific ideas.

Art

Art materials are always available for creative, imaginative, and messy play. Open-ended projects allow the children to follow their natural artistic instincts. Indoor and outdoor easels are available.

Music & Movements

Music and movement activities combine music with physical movement. This includes singing dancing and playing instruments.

Outside Play

Our children can play in an outdoor area with our mud kitchen and playground. We also visit a nearby park where they can play and explore!

Teachers/Atelierista

They are partners in the learning process and co-collaborators in children's discoveries and creations.  They carefully listen, observe, reflect, and document on the students to build and adjust the curriculum and learning.
